September 2019 - PK 4

This month we will be learning about the evolution of our Planet Earth, from its formation, the first animals, dinosaurs, all the way up to us!

To comprehend this, we will explain that after the existence of the Earth and when our world was full of volcanoes and bombed by meteorites, the necessary conditions were given for the development of the first micro-organisms and their evolution until the transformation of them into great and different animals such as dinosaurs and finally the human beings.

The art technique for this month will be the line. In terms of art, the line is considered to be a moving dot. It has an endless number of uses in the creation of art. It can indicate form as well as movement. We will get our inspiration from artists such as Mondrian.

Rhyme of the Month

Sung to:  Oh My Darling Clementine

Great big dinosaurs, great big dinosaurs,

Lived so long ago

Some liked land and some liked water,

Some flew in the air.

Great big dinosaurs, great big dinosaurs,

Lived so long ago

Some had horns and some had spikes,

Some had wings like bats.

Great big dinosaurs, great big dinosaurs,

Lived so long ago

Some ate plants and some ate meat,

But now there are no more

Song of the Month

The Pteranodon's wings went flap, flap, flap,
Flap, flap, flap, flap, flap, flap,
The Pteranodon's wings went flap, flap, flap,
All around the swamp.

The Tyrannosaurus Rex went grr, grr, grr,

Grr, grr, grr, grr, grr, grr,
The Tyrannosaurus Rex went grr, grr, grr,
All around the swamp.

The Triceratops' horns went poke, poke, poke,
Poke, poke, poke, poke, poke, poke,
The Triceratops' horns went poke, poke, poke,
All around the swamp.

Additional Verses:
The brontosaurus went munch, munch, munch.
The stegosaurs' tail went spike, spike, spike.

The dinosaurs went zzz, zzz, zzz,
Zzz, zzz, zzz, zzz, zzz, zzz,
